A major festival will take place in Dnepropetrovsk on Friday, July 14. Guests of the event will sing Ukrainian folk songs and wear handmade traditional embroidered shirts.
The organizational committee of the festival says the event is aimed at reminding Ukrainians of their cultural heritage and getting young people to find out more about their ancestry. The festival will also promote traditional Ukrainian clothes and tell everyone that embroidered shirts are not a thing from the past, but are actually the future of national clothing.
Citizens of Dnepropetrovsk wearing national costumes will walk around the centre of the city to Lazarus Globa City Park. The parade will be accompanied by folk music and dancing. The solemn procession will start at 6pm. Organizers are planning to hold a number of similar events to attract even more participants among citizens and guests of Dnepropetrovsk.
